Stock Transfer Form
The standard instrument of transfer which is used to transfer legal title to shares in companies incorporated in England and Wales. The form requires details of the shares that are being transferred, the name and address of the transferor and transferee and the total purchase price. It should be signed by the selling shareholder and delivered to the company so that the company can update its register of members and issue the new share certificate(s). If stamp duty is payable on the transfer, the stock transfer form will need to be sent to HMRC for stamping prior to the register of members being updated.
